Trae Tha Truth "THA TRUTH PT. 3" Mixtape

Trae Tha Truth "THA TRUTH PT. 3" Mixtape

Trae Tha Truth gained exposure on the Houston rap scene in 1998, when he made his rapping debut with a guest appearance on Z-Ro's album Look What You Did to Me.[4] In 2003, he began his solo career with the album Losing Composure. 2004's Same Thing Different Day, 2006's Restless, and 2007's Life Goes On followed shortly after. Trae Tha Truth has also worked relentlessly with fellow Houston rapper Chamillionaire on his various Mixtape Messiah series.
He also collaborated with Z-Ro to form the duo ABN or Assholes by Nature. They have released two albums, Assholes by Nature (2003) and It Is What It Is (2008).
Trae Tha Truth was involved in a fight with Texas rapper Mike Jones, at the 2008 Ozone Awards. Both later apologized for the incident.[5] It was recently suspected that Trae Tha Truth's music was banned from Houston's local radio Station, 97.9 The Boxx.[6]
After creating a buzz for himself, T.I. announced he signed Trae Tha Truth to Grand Hustle Records on March 1, 2012. On October 9, 2012, Trae was featured on the annual BET Hip Hop Awards cypher, alongside his Grand Hustle label-mates Iggy AzaleaB.o.BChip and T.I.[7] His first Grand Hustle album, then-titled Banned, was scheduled to be released in 2014.[8] However, prior to that he will release the mixtape I Am King and has been involved in the recording process for the Grand Hustle Records compilation album.[9] His Grand Hustle Records debut titled Tha Truth was released on July 24, 2015.

In 2008, Trae Tha Truth was awarded by the mayor of Houston, Bill White, and Council Member Peter Brown with his own day, Trae Day, in honor of his outstanding work within the community.[10] This is the first time the honor has been extended to a rap artist. Trae Day is celebrated every year on July 22.

Trae Tha Truth hosted the second annual Trae Day in July 2009, near Texas Southern University. After the event had ended, eight people, ranging in age from 14 to 21, were shot near a parking garage located on the Texas Southern University campus.[11] When he explained to the morning crew at radio station KBXX "97.9 The Box" that he did not condone the shooting, he was accused by one of the personalities of being responsible for the violence per se the lyrical content. When Trae Tha Truth retaliated against her on a mixtape, KBXX banned Trae Tha Truth's music and contributed music from the station and ordered their personalities not to play his music. It caused backlash in the music community as several DJs at KBXX were terminated from their positions due to playing songs that featured Trae.[12] Due to his inability and hindrance from being able to promote his music in Houston as a result, Trae filed a lawsuit against KBXX early in 2010 citing damages to his career.[13]

Damar Jackson "Ritenow & Unfaithful" Mixtape

Damar Jackson "Ritenow & Unfaithful" Mixtape

It’s hard to miss Damar Jackson when he walks into a room, his 6’1” frame crowned by shoulder length locks, rendered even more impressive by this confidence that makes it clear he knows exactly where he belongs. Once he steps onto a stage, it becomes absolutely undeniable: R&B newcomer Damar Jackson is a star.

Throughout his adolescence and young adulthood, Damar’s talent has been rivaled only by his impressive business instincts and drive. A young prodigy who began playing the drums and keys at his church at the age of 9, he has stood in awe of great vocal performances as far back as he can remember, watching greats like Prince and Michael Jackson. His mother, also a singer in the church, fully nurtured his talent, enrolling him in music lessons as soon as she discovered her son’s innate talent. By the time he was in high school, Damar knew exactly where he was headed; the only question was how. “When I was in high school, if you wanted to get money you were either selling candy, selling drugs or selling mixtapes,” he recalls. “So I had this song I wrote with my boy. And I figured out how to record it on my keyboard and put that one song on blank CDs.” When he succeeded in selling 80 copies of that self-recorded CD single, he knew he would have to find a way out DeRidder, LA in order to reach his destiny. A band scholarship would lead him to the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and while there, Damar continued to create opportunities to promote his music all while honing his craft. “The whole time I was in school, I was creating my sound,” he says. “So I turned my room into a recording studio.” As he wrote and produced his own music, he became a resource for others in the area looking to record, allowing him to learn the ins and outs of the recording process. He also booked and promoted his own shows, which would lead to opportunities to open for artists like Bobby V, Day 26, and Ludacris. As he prepared for graduation as a Mass Communications major, a chance Twitter encounter lead him to an internship with Def Jam Record’s Atlanta office. With $300 to his name, Damar set course for his future and has yet to look back.

While his intern days were not without their share of challenges - Damar recalls sleeping in his car after events to make sure he made it to work on time, this proved to be the best finishing school for this rising talent. Under the tutelage of industry vets J.R. McKee and Leland “Big Fruit” Clopton of Family Ties Ent., Damar continued to perfect his craft as a songwriter and producer, contributing to K-Camp’s success with songs like the hit single “Comfortable.” He also learned the business side of the record game, studying the A&R and marketing process intently and always making himself an asset to the team. “It’s been amazing to witness Damar’s growth firsthand,” says Fruit with whom Damar shares quite a few co-production credits. “I’m sure he’s going to have an advantage over his peers due to his insight on all aspects of artistry and the business. He’s definitely going to add a refreshing energy to the industry.”

Today, he stands prepared to apply what he’s learned as he presents his own music to the world. The candor with which Damar Jackson recounts his musical journey is also present in his music, allowing him to offer fans a level of honesty and vulnerability rarely seen in today’s R&B. His debut single “Crazy , ” in which he revisits the last days of the relationship that sustained him during his early years in Atlanta, is an emotional rollercoaster both musically and lyrically. “We got to a point where she saw the success coming,” he explains, “but even though I thought we had been preparing for the late nights and work trips, it started driving her crazy.” As he puts the finishing touches on his debut project, from which the single is drawn, Damar promises more of the same “I be trying to tell both sides of everything. There’s a lot that comes with the decision to choose to take it there with a woman that you don’t plan on marrying. But a lot of guys aren’t honest about the consequences, not just what you’re doing to her, but how it affects you too.”

With this project nearly ready for the public, Damar is already setting his sights on the future, and not just as an artist: this multi-instrumentalist is currently
drawing the blueprint that is sure to make him a force in the music, film and even tech space for years to come.

Lil Tracy - Life Of A Popstar Mixtape

Lil Tracy - Life Of A Popstar Mixtape

Lil Tracy - Life Of A Popstar Mixtape

It’s been a big year for the members of the GothBoiClique, and now Lil Tracy is continuing to push their name with a brand new project. The rapper releases his brand new Life of a Popstar project for fans to his SoundCloud page, and you can stream it below.
The new project from the “On Deck” entertainer contains a total of eight tracks, with features from both Smokepurpp and Duwap Kaine. A majority of the production is handled by rising producer Kill Bighead, but Captain Crunch, DJ Flip and Better Off Dead also contribute beats for the project. Life of a Popstar hears a lot of Tracy’s musical chemistry with different instruments, mixing between different kinds of genres, which help match the theme of the project’s title.
If you recall, Tracy also released his excellent Tracy’s Manga project back in February, which gave fans a taste of how he experiments with his sound, similar to his close affiliates Lil Peep and Famous Dex. Earlier this year, former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke shared his distaste for both Tracy and Dex after they were seen taking a risqué photo with a female fan.

Lil Tracy’s Life of a Popstar Tracklist
1. “Life of a Popstar”
2. “Prom Queen”
3. “Lucki x Pluto”
4. “Flip” Feat. Smokepurpp
5. “Drunk Punx”
6. “Hygiene” Feat. Duwap Kaine

J. Cole Biography

J. Cole may be first known as Jay-Z's protege but he has emerged from the sideline to become a Billboard chart topper. He was born Jermaine Lamarr Cole on January 28, 198 in Frankfurt, Germany on to a European American mother and an African American father. He moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina with his mother when his father left the family.

Cole fascination of rapping started at the age of 14 when J. Money put him in the rap game and his cousin showed him the basics of rhyming and word play. He was an expert in lyrics first before in beats. His mother then bought him a beat machine which helped him to produce his own music. Cole spent the remainder of his teen years as Therapist, posting his music online under the moniker.

In pursuit of a better chance, he moved to New York City as soon as he graduated from high school He enrolled in St. John's University on an academic scholarship where he majored in communication and minored in business, graduating magna cum laude. He was working as a bill collector in the city but his passion laid somewhere else. Cole first came up with a mixtape called "The Come Up" in 2007.

With only courage and determination, Cole stood outside Jay-Z's office building for hours to give him his demo tape. But when the big rapper came out, Cole was shunned. But luck came not long before that. He received a text from an associate who told him that he has a business meeting with Jay-Z to attend.

Jay-Z apparently heard his song "Lights Please". Cole was officially the first artist to be signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation. "I got the record deal," Cole recalled, "but I still had to learn and improve as far as being ready to drop an album." He was then featured in his mentor's album "The Blueprint 3" on the track "A Star Is Born." From there, Cole was a known collaborator, working with Wale, Talib KweliMos DefB.o.B and a lot more.

His first single "Who Dat" appeared on the mixtape "The Warm Up". He supported the album with a college tour in 2010. His third official mixtape "Friday Night Lights" was released in November that year, featuring names like Drake and Wale. He then joined Drake as his supporting act in the Light Dreams and Nightmares UK
